ITINERARY
Thursday, April 24th
This afternoon we leave Chicago O’Hare Airport for our flight to Venice, Italy, departing at 3:30pm. Dinner will be served onboard the plane. D
Friday, April 25th
This morning a breakfast snack will be served onboard the plane before we arrive in Milan. We will change planes as we continue our journey onto VENICE, arriving in the later part of the morning. Once we collect our luggage, we will meet our driver who will take us to our motorcoach and drive us to our first-class hotel. Upon arrival, we will check in and relax. The afternoon is free to enjoy at our leisure. A special welcome dinner will be served at our hotel. B, D
Saturday, April 26th
This morning, following a delicious breakfast, we will meet a local tour guide who will take us on an informative walking tour of the city, highlighting the main attractions. We will visit the famous Murano Glass Factory, St. Marks Square and other special places. The afternoon and evening are free for you to enjoy at your leisure. There are plenty of shopping opportunities and you certainly can’t leave Venice without a ride on the famous gondola boats, as your gondolier takes you through the canals. It will be a memory to last a lifetime! B
Sunday, April 27th
This morning, following a leisurely breakfast, we will check out of our hotel and drive to the Northwesterly part of the country, to the charming town of COMO. Along the way, we will stop in some of the charming Italian villages for a coffee, some shopping and lunch. Once we arrive in Como, we will be taken to our first-class hotel where we will settle in and relax. This evening is free for you to enjoy on your own. B
Monday, April 28th
This morning, following breakfast, we will drive to the stylish city of MILAN. As with every major city around the world, there will be opportunities for all kinds of things to do. You can shop the trendy boutique shops for the latest Italian fashions, or visit an art museum or glorious basilica. There will be plenty of restaurants and café’s where you can enjoy delicious Milanese cuisine. We will drive back to our hotel in the early evening. B
Tuesday, April 29th
Today, following breakfast, we will board a private boat and enjoy a ride on the infamous Lake Como. We’ll glide past mansions and villas of the rich and famous. It will be a relaxing morning. We have a special treat in store for lunch, which we will keep as a surprise. This afternoon we will provide an opportunity to enjoy the hotel and surrounding area of Como. Maybe you’d like to have a massage in the spa, or take a nice walk around the lake. There will also be an opportunity to participate on an optional afternoon tour. Whatever you decide to do, enjoy the rest of your afternoon and evening. B, L
Wednesday, April 30th
Today, following breakfast we will check out of our hotel and drive north into SWITZERLAND, to the town of LUCERNE. You’ll feel like you’ve just driven in a fairyland, as we drive through spectacular mountains and vistas. Have your cameras ready, the scenery is wonderful. We’ll stop along the way, for coffee breaks and lunch before arriving at our first-class hotel. Once we unpack and get settled in, a special dinner awaits for our group at the hotel. The remainder of the evening is free for you to enjoy on your own. B, D
Thursday, May 1st
This morning, following breakfast, we will drive to the charming town of BERN, on the far West cost of the country. As one of the younger cities in Switzerland, Bern offers wonderful little markets, art museums, gardens and quaint little shops along the River Aare. It’s a picture postcard town, and we will have all day to enjoy its charm. We will return back to Lucerne later in the day. B
Friday, May 2nd
Today, we will have a very early breakfast and begin our drive to the resort town of ZURICH. You’ll discover that Heidi’s world does exist as we make our way through Alpine mountains and valleys to this special city. You’ll have an opportunity to discover the commercial center of town, along with the Old Town. Visit the Fraumuenster Church famous for its Chagall windows. Without a doubt, you’ll fall in love with this spectacular place. There will be plenty of time for shopping and leisurely strolling through the streets. We will spend all day here before driving back to Lucerne in the early evening. B
Saturday, May 3rd
Today, following a leisurely breakfast, we will leave Switzerland and drive south to the city of MILAN. We will arrive at our first-class hotel in the later part of the afternoon. Once we check in, there will be some time for last minute souvenir shopping and purchasing anything “Italian.” Tonight we will all enjoy a “farewell dinner” and recall the special memories we made during our tour. Sunday, May 4th
This morning we will check out of our hotel and drive to the Milan Airport of our non-stop flight back to Chicago. We will arrive at the Chicago O’Hare Airport at approximately 1:45pm. B, Snack
