Thursday, September 11th
Tonight we will fly from Los Angeles International Airport to Bali. B, L
Friday, September 12th
This morning we arrive at the Taipei Airport at 5:40am. We will transfer to another gate for our flight to Bali. We arrive at the airport in Denpasar, which is the capital city in Bali, Indonesia. Upon our arrival, we will collect our luggage and meet our bus driver who will take us to our beautiful four-star hotel, the MELIA BALI RESORT & SPA. Here we will check into our rooms and settle in. This will be our home for the next nine nights. A special welcome orientation with Jim West will take place before we all enjoy dinner at the hotel. B, L, D
Saturday, September 13th
This morning will be an opportunity for us to relax and settle in and have a leisurely breakfast. Midmorning, we will meet our guide and bus driver who will take us to the town of DENPASAR for a city sightseeing and shopping tour. There will be plenty of time for lunch on your own and shopping for batik fabrics in one of the many shops in town. We will return back to our hotel later in the afternoon, where the remainder of the evening is at your leisure. B
Sunday, September 14th
This morning, following breakfast, we will visit the town of TOHPATI where we will visit a Batik Factory. This will be an opportunity to see Batik Weavers, painters and learn more of how Batik fabric is made. There will be time for shopping before we continue our tour and visit the town of CELUK where the local trade is gold and silversmiths. We will have an opportunity to see more artisans (painters and wood carvers) in the towns of BATUAN and the town of MAS. B
Monday, September 15th
This morning we will drive through picturesque landscapes of rice paddies tripping down hillsides, travel through a dense tropical jungle, and pass through quiet little villages until we arrive at the largest temple in Bali, the Mother Temple in BESAKIH. It is the holiest and biggest Hindu temple on the island, built in the 11th century. This will be one of those special moments in the tour. We will have lunch at Bali Bird Park and return back to our hotel later in the day. B, L
Tuesday, September 16th
This morning after a hearty breakfast, we will drive to the town of UBUD, famous for fantastic shopping. Here you値l have plenty of time to browse the local craft shops and bargain for anything from paintings to batik fabric. We will spend all morning here and depart in the middle of the afternoon for the world famous Monkey Forest. Here, we can see the lush tropical rain forest and enjoy the spontaneity of the local monkeys who inhabit this area. We will return back to our hotel later in the day. Tonight, Kaye will provide a special lecture back at our hotel. B
Wednesday, September 17th
Today we have an opportunity to just relax and enjoy the day on our own. There will be an optional tour offered to our group which is a visit an Elephant Safari Park. Along the way, we値l pass extraordinary scenery and have some great photograph opportunities. Cost of this optional tour is $68.00 per person. B
Thursday, September 18th
Today, following breakfast, we will visit a coffee and clove plantation, where we will learn more about how they are grown and produced. In the afternoon we will visit a Batik village and actually make batiks ourselves! This is a once in a lifetime experience and I知 sure you値l remember it forever. Don稚 forget your cameras! B
Friday, September 19th
Today is our final full day in Bali. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy on your own. Tonight, a special farewell dinner awaits us at a local village, where we will enjoy Balinese dancers and a special feast. B, D
Saturday, September 20th
Today we will pack our suitcases and begin our journey home from Bali. We値l stop in Taipei to change planes and arrive in Los Angeles later the same day. B, L
